In Bosca Vanilla, vanilla is adorned with a woody, iodine-enhanced note, illuminated by a few sunny touches. As the brand explains, “On the warm sands of a Corsican beach, on the edge of a eucalyptus forest, the waves deposit dozens of pieces of driftwood. In the form of elements, ignited by the sun and sea water, they inspired the house’s perfumers to create a woody vanilla fragrance with a strong trail.”

The fragrance opens with a touch of fresh bergamot, lifted by a hint of eucalyptus, recognizable by its herbal notes, even if it is not obvious to my nose. Very quickly, Bosca Vanilla reveals the famous driftwood accord, tinged with patchouli, notes of iodized salt and something that reminds me of calamus. The timelessness extends to the nuances of the fragrance.

Then the vanilla tincture, a long-standing expertise of the House, is gently revealed, obtained from vanilla beans organically grown in Madagascar. Freshly sourced from Guerlain’s Orphin factory, the beans are then hand-cut, revealing the unique richness of their scent with those delicious woody and leathery notes that we know as vanilla.
